Welcome to the student chapter of ISACA and ACFE at the University of Houston — Clear Lake

Our Purpose

The mission of the joint ISACA and ACFE Student Organization at UHCL is to provide students with an education and social organization that promotes fraud examinations and internal controls for Accounting including associated disciplines such as Information Systems and Programming.

Our goal as a combined student chapter is to provide students a community based on networking, volunteering, and knowledge building.

Our goals...

For Students

The ISACA and ACFE Student Organization at UHCL offers students an opportunity to develop professional skills relating to the discipline of fraud examination and internal controls through our relationships with our greater chapter partners. Students will be able to attend monthly ACFE meetings and develop skills relating to fraud examinations that are normally reserved for already established members.

Students will also be able to network with other aligned students, and be able to network with established professionals. We partner with other Accounting student organizations at UHCL to provide students regular meetings, speaker events, and opportunities for professional development.

For the community

Being a professional involves having a reliable character, having higher than normal standards, and showing that one can place care or acknowledge every single possible aspect of problem or goal.

Professionalism aligns with community service. Members can volunteer and give back to the community, reinforcing professional standards and characters that they've learned through their time at UHCL and within our organizations and will continue to learn once they've entered the industry.

For the professional community

Professional organizations such as our greater chapter partners can promote the development and learning of professional standards commonly found in the Accounting and related industries early within students careers. This will ensure competency and thus success for our members.

Professionals within the industry can perform outreach and advocacy for the greater industry through our organization and others alike. In addition, professionals and recruiters can communicate to aspiring and committing members for potential internship and working opportunities.
